CLASSIFICATION INFORMATION: "Sterling Silver" OTHER ANNOYING LITTLE FACTS: Some True, Some Made Up

Name: Sterling Silver
Class: Hybrid Tea Rose (Modern Large Flowered)
Hybridizer/Date: Gladys (Mrs. Gordon) Fisher, USA 1957
Parentage: seedling x Peace
Fragrance: Strong, fruity and sweet
ARS Color: Mauve (light mauve)

Comments: One of the first light mauve colored roses. Parent of Angel Face, and second through fourth generation progenitor to many a fragrant mauve rose. Ocassionally a bloom from this rose can seriously break your heart with its beauty.
That said, it is an absolutely awful garden rose. poor growth, bad disease resistance and limited blooming after the initial flush makes me say 'take a pass'.
A better blooming, more modern garden rose very similar in coloration to this one is 'Stainless Steel'.
