Hulthemia persica (formerly Rosa persica) hybrid
OTHER ANNOYING LITTLE FACTS: Some True, Some Made Up

Class: Genus Hulthemia Hybrid (Rose family), Hybrid persica, Modern Shrub
Hybridizer/Date: Harkness, England 1986
Parentage: Hulthemia persica x Fairy Changeling

Comments: Closely related the the Genus Rosa. These are just beginning to be hybridized into new varieties. The distince red eye is a definite identifying feature.
Some references say this is an offspring of Rosa persica, but I think Rosa persica has been reclassified into the Genus Hulthemia. Ralph Moore is currently experimenting with this rose and producing a whole line of Hulthemia hybrids for the future.
